Bulgarian percussionist and marimba player Vassilena Serafimova and French photographer and video-maker Julien Poulain already met for a successful filmed music project. A few years later, they meet again for a new creation. As the result of hard work and thriving dreams, TIME is premiered at Les Dominicains de Haute Alsace in September 2018. The audio and video performances take the audience on a journey through nature and refined graphic images, while a rhythm sets in, going back and forth between music and visual scenes. Vassilena Serafimova dives into Steive Reich’s work and the minimal movement and reaches out to other composers of the American continent such as Astor Piazzolla, Casey Cangelosi or John Psathas.

A unique sensory and emotional experience.

The artists’ creativity, their experimenting and innovating spirits are only matched by their virtuosity and flawless technique. Thanks to their multiple influences, their experience and history, at the crossroads of diverse disciplines, they can offer the audience an unrivaled immersion in an exceptionally vibrant universe. More than a concert, TIME is beyond usual performances, beyond time.

This project is sponsored and premiered in collaboration with Centre Culturel les Dominicains de Haute-Alsace.
