Teaching the World To Sing
UNLEASHING THE SONG OF POSSIBILITY
Founded in 2020 at the initiative of the VOCES8 Foundation, the SING’IN association is dedicated to sharing the joys and benefits of singing by empowering every young person to grow, flourish, and reach their full potential.
The association promotes artistic and cultural education initiatives in schools, particularly in rural areas and priority neighbourhoods targeted by urban policy.
RAISE YOUR VOICES, BREAK DOWN BARRIERS!
In France, the programme has been running since 2015, and more than 15,000 children have already taken part in its workshops.
Based on the playful VOCES8 teaching method created by internationally renowned conductor and educator Paul Smith, SING’IN organises series of introductory singing workshops that culminate in large, free public concerts, performed alongside the professional artists of the ensemble APOLLO5. These concerts take place in some of France’s most iconic music venues and heritage sites.
Recently, the association has also begun offering training programmes for teachers and education professionals who wish to incorporate singing into their daily practice, enabling them to adopt and share this unique approach.
What is the VOCES8 Method?
8 phases, 8 leaders, 8 minutes: the VOCES8 Method
The VOCES8 Method is a simple, progressive learning tool structured into eight phases of increasing difficulty, designed to engage students through playful vocal activities.
Grounded in research conducted by the Institute of Education in London, this innovative approach stimulates neurological and cognitive development. In a school setting, it contributes significantly to improving learning abilities in areas such as mathematics and modern languages.
The method includes simple exercises in breathing, vocal warm-ups, body percussion, improvisation, rhythm, and melody. It requires no prior musical training or costly equipment.
Its goal is to build a bridge between musical discovery and the core principles of academic learning.
