The Odyssey of the Marimba

Program

Traveling between traditional and contemporary rhythms, Vassilena Serafimova and her students create a journey in which xylophones and historical marimbas from the Museum interact with those of today.

In connection with the themes of the Philharmonie weekends, the concerts-promenades at the Museum are an opportunity to showcase the Museum’s instruments, to explore a musical genre or the work of a composer, to echo temporary exhibitions, or to welcome artists in an unusual setting.

Offering offbeat moments for a different kind of listening experience, the concerts-promenades present mini-concerts and a musical workshop in various spaces of the Musée de la musique at regular intervals throughout the afternoon. They provide the chance to wander through a unique collection of musical instruments and works of art tracing musical life from the 17th to the 20th century. Everyone is free to create their own route!
