Composer, pianist, and singer, Julius Eastman was one of the most singular and radical musical figures of the New York scene in the 1980s. Written for four pianos facing one another, this programme explores a dense and hypnotic repetition whose full transcendental power will be revealed by the acoustics of the Nef.

This project, led by the Haute école des arts du Rhin (Music Department) at the request of the Couvent, is presented under the artistic direction of Wilhelm Latchoumia, exceptional pianist and resident artist at Les Dominicains in 2026. Around him, a new generation of virtuoso pianists comes together to immerse itself in this dense, exhilarating, and ecstatic repertoire.

A unique and exceptional experience, in the image of this extraordinary work: at once vertiginous and ecstatic.
